Arts & Crafts Styled Living Room

This living room was originally a real mishmash. An oversized 1950s tiled fireplace with stone surround, bare beige walls, dated wall lights, and a well-worn carpet. The clients wanted something comfortable and relaxed with good lighting and most of all, to be in keeping with a mid-1800 house with lovely stone mullioned windows, nestled in the rolling Welsh landscape.

The paneling was painted in a deep blue with classic sofas covered in rich deep velvet. The cushions added a fresh touch in the form of William Yeoward embroidered linen. The television is cleverly hidden behind the paneling so as not to dominate a room that is used for entertaining. The lighting was very subtle and this was due to the installation of carefully positioned ERCO fittings, to allow the mood-enhanced lighting of the room.

Subsequent to the above image, the installation of a recovered footstool was installed between the two sofas, two gothic-style investiture chairs, and a large sisal rug.

Currently, the entire property is under a complete re-design with a 2-floor extension.
